Kim's Advice

To begin with you may first want to familiarize yourself with the laws pertaining to homeschooling in Michigan. Basically, Michigan is known as a "very friendly homeschooling state". You may be surprised to find that homeschooling in Michigan is mostly unregulated! There is no one you need to tell nor anyone to whom you need report! Basically, you just START HOMESCHOOLING!

Then you may want to learn a bit more about homeschooling, such as the different methods, your teaching style, and your child's individual learning style. A visit to a terrific site for ALL things concerning home education is a great place to start.

Next, you may want to read the advice from, Kim, another Michigander who is an experienced homeschooling mom and local support group leader.

Then, you may want to locate a local support group in your area, speak with your local librarian, and find the local teacher supply/homeschool stores.

You may also want to join this website/support group's mailing list if you have not already done so.
